The Mafia That Geto Suguru Couldn't Escape Ch. 13
Geto Suguru had only just received some "physical guidance" via Yaga Masamichi’s Fist of Love, which was the only reason he was currently escorting Fuwa Yozora to the torii gate at the main entrance.
At the end of the crimson path stood a high-end black sedan. The moment they came into view, a middle-aged man immediately hopped out of the driver’s seat.
Geto Suguru recognized him—he was the sorcerer he’d seen back at Momoyama Private High.
He figured that because this sorcerer was by her side, Fuwa Yozora had managed to grow up properly without being devoured by a cursed spirit.
The schools she frequented had barriers, and her residence likely did too.
But nothing was ever 100% foolproof. This girl was a deep thinker; she’d approached him strictly for her own benefit.
A win-win collab. Not bad at all.
"Young Lady."
Tomizawa Tenmei scanned Fuwa Yozora instantly. No visible injuries, just a few small stains on her light-colored clothes—within the margin of error.
The future Young Mas—er, Geto Suguru—had even personally walked her out. He actually seemed like a pretty decent guy.
"Uncle Tenmei, let’s head back."
Fuwa Yozora didn't spare Geto Suguru another word as she opened the back door herself.
Geto Suguru, however, flashed a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes and waved.
"Take care now, Young Lady~"
Fuwa Yozora ignored him and slammed the door shut.
Tomizawa Tenmei didn't get into the car right away. He shot a look at Geto Suguru and offered some stiff politeness.
"Please look after our Young Lady in the future. However, until she is of age, please don't get any 'ideas.'"
Geto Suguru tilted his head, smiling innocently.
"Old man, what are you even yapping about?"
"Our Young Lady is pure-hearted. We respect her decisions, but I hope you’re ready to take accountability."
Geto Suguru scratched his eyebrow. He felt like the conversation was getting weird—was there some massive misunderstanding here?
Wait, a "pure-hearted" little brat?
"Then you better do a good job protecting her, old man. I don't want the next time I see her to be in a funeral urn."
Tomizawa Tenmei didn't mind the trash talk. He figured it was just some "tsundere" way of showing concern.
Seems like a solid dude after all. A total misunderstanding. Geto Suguru was literally just being a hater.
"Farewell."
Tomizawa Tenmei didn't say more. He turned toward the driver's seat just as Fuwa Yozora rolled down the window.
"Hit me up if anything happens. I’ll come out if my schedule isn't bricked. If I find any leads, I expect you to observe them with me. I’ll respect your time as well."
What a strictly business Young Lady. Geto Suguru didn't hate it. He was actually lowkey looking forward to what kind of surprises this girl would bring him next time.
Inside the car, Tomizawa Tenmei gripped the steering wheel, feeling overwhelmed.
She’s definitely smitten. She can’t even wait to schedule the next date? Today’s info dump was too massive. Once he processed everything, he absolutely had to report back to the Big Boss.
Fuwa Yozora wasn't thinking about any of that. She was currently calculating how to seize control over the Yokohama Port.
The core members of the Hanaha-kai they’d captured a few days ago had failed multiple "self-deletion" attempts. It was time to pull up and demand answers using the "Kidnapping of the Sanyei-gumi Heiress" as leverage.
Whether they settled it legally or "under the table" depended entirely on their attitude.
Tomizawa Tenmei watched his Young Lady through the rearview mirror. Seeing her staring out the window in deep thought, he took it as the romantic longing of a girl in love.
He actually felt a bit relieved. He was genuinely worried she had zero interest in men—then what would happen to the Sanyei-gumi bloodline?
Unfortunately, his Young Lady was strictly on her grind. There wasn't room for even a single strand of Geto Suguru’s hair in her head right now.
Misunderstandings. Massive ones.
Once Fuwa Yozora returned to the villa, she headed straight for Fuwa Nogawa’s study.
The numbers over her dad’s head were still an exact match with Geto Suguru’s. Fuwa Yozora’s expression shifted slightly, but she kept quiet.
She didn't want to tell her dad about the matching numbers; he’d definitely worry about her doing something reckless.
Everyone has their secrets.
Fuwa Nogawa had been unable to focus on work. Ever since he heard his daughter went to see Geto Suguru, he’d been restless.
He hadn't met the boy himself; everything he knew came from Tomizawa Tenmei’s descriptions and a background file.
He’d dabbled in the business of the Jujutsu world before. After all, when Curses caused disasters that normal people couldn't explain, his partners in the left-wing political parties would spin the narrative to blame it on "Mafia gang wars."
Modern-day Mafias were legally recognized organizations. As long as they didn't make too much noise, the government turned a blind eye. It was a mutual partnership.
Fuwa Nogawa didn't have an issue with his daughter associating with Geto Suguru; he was just being an overprotective "Girl Dad."
"Dad, I’m coming in."
Fuwa Yozora knocked, and Fuwa Nogawa immediately spoke up.
"Yozora, come in! I heard that brat took you away for two hours. You okay? Nothing happened, right?"
Fuwa Yozora wasn't surprised he knew.
"It was nothing. He just took me to see some Curses."
Fuwa Nogawa tensed up instantly.
He only knew about Fuwa Yozora’s "Curse-attracting" constitution because Tomizawa Tenmei—who had been a sorcerer in the trenches with him—told him.
She had been attracting Curses since she was a baby. Her mother, Fuwa Rika, could never explain why.
When Fuwa Yozora was three, Rika died protecting her from a Curse.
Fuwa Nogawa and Tomizawa Tenmei had arrived one step too late.
That’s why Fuwa Nogawa was incredibly sensitive about Curses getting near Yozora. For a split second, he actually wanted to put a hit out on the kid named Geto Suguru.
Fuwa Yozora saw the killing intent in her dad’s eyes and immediately gave a reassuring smile.
"Dad, he didn't force me. Actually... you never told me I was a Curse magnet, did you?"
"Yozora, don't talk nonsense!"
"Did Mom's death have something to do with this? Now that I think about it, she was a sorcerer too. There’s no way she’d just die in a basic car accident."
Fuwa Nogawa stayed silent, cautiously watching her reaction.
But his precious daughter only gave a look of closure.
"I know you were just trying to protect me, but these questions are bothering me. Geto is the key to my answers. No need to be so pressed about him."
Fuwa Nogawa sank back into his chair. That boy was a Special Grade sorcerer, even stronger than his brother Tenmei. If he stayed by Yozora’s side, maybe his daughter would actually be safer.
Fuwa Yozora had her own vision; she already handled a lot of Sanyei-gumi business. He felt it was time to be transparent with her.
"I get it. I won't interfere with you and Geto Suguru."
"Actually, that’s not even what I wanted to talk about. That’s not important."
"NOT IMPORTANT?! This is literally about the future of the Sanyei-gumi!"
Fuwa Yozora thought her dad was worried about her safety, but it turned out he was just stressing over the "son-in-law" candidates.
The girl tapped the desk with a serious face.
"This weekend, we’re settling the Hanaha-kai situation. Send out the invites, Dad. Let’s treat them to a 'nice' final meal."
Fuwa Nogawa snapped out of it. Looking at the composed Fuwa Yozora in front of him, he suddenly felt at peace.
His daughter didn't look like she’d been "abducted" or "rizzled up" at all.
Bless.
